About
The Creator
The Inferno was created by Max Masnick in 2005 for an AP Senior English project in approximately one week.
The Technology
The graphics in The Inferno were created in Adobe Photoshop. The site is driven by PHP, with a MySQL database to avoid the redundant page creation for all the Circles, Rounds, and Bulgias. It is written in completely non-compliant HTML because when dealing with The Inferno, presentation is much more important than accessibility.
The Sources/Credits
- The quotes from The Inferno are from Ciardi's translation first published in 1954 by the New American Library (New York).
- All graphics were created by Max Masnick.

- All artwork in the Circle/Round/Bulgia pages is by Gustave Dore.
